Executive Summary Project Description
The Project Description is the product of 17 years of scientific and economic analyses. It describes a development plan for New Prosperity, which will deliver significant value in a responsible and sustainable manner. It also incorporates the direct feedback of British Columbian communities, First Nations peoples and the Federal & Provincial governments.

Thank you for your message, Ed. It is clear from your comments that you have a deep respect for the environment. We are a BC company and we share this respect. In fact, the nearly two decades of scientific analysis and research that have gone into the New Prosperity development plan to make it a responsible project are born of our commitment to British Columbia. Our Gibraltar Copper Project in the Cariboo Chilcotin region is an example of a mine that generates significant value to the workforce and economy while mitigating against environmental impact. Gibraltar has been operating responsibly for more than 20 years. It is this same approach to mining that now informs New Prosperity. We encourage you to read the full Project Description that is posted on this site. It is the same document that is now before the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, which is responsible for reviewing the full impact of resource projects in Canada. The Project Description describes in detail the plans to minimize the footprint of New Prosperity, as well as the plan to return the site to nature after the mine closes.
I believe this is crown land and the main problem is a very small lake with stocked fish in it that the Prosperity team is more than willing to deal with.I am sure if we all work together on this we can make this happen. With the recent beetle attack on our forests and the poor economic
time in the interior this project should be supported by all.
The TNG are questioning whether the tailings pond in the new proposal will be sufficiently isolated from Fish Lake. According to some of their quotes part of the reason this approach wasn't taken to begin with was it would have more environmental impact to the local waters rather than less. Can someone from Taseko comment on the distance/isolation of the newly proposed tailings pond as compared to one that had been previously studied by the company?
It is interesting how you list what it can do for Canada/BC ($, jobs), but not what it will do for you (as a corporation).
Is contrast where lies hide?
I understand that there is a wilderness lodge at the north end of Taseko Lakes quite close to the proposed mine site. I never read anything relating to the impact of the proposed mine on this wilderness lodge. Are they too small to be bothered with?
